GUIDELINE PARTNER

Specific requests for submission of proposals in partnership with researchers from UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA

FAPESP and PARTNER signed a Cooperation Agreement for Research on April 26, 2012, aiming to implement scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from the PARTNER, Country and from the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, through the funding of joint research projects.

Under the referred Agreement, to promote such collaboration, FAPESP and UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA make public this Call for Proposals for the exchange of faculty and postdoctoral researchers, under the terms and conditions of the SPRINT 1st Edition 2015 (www.fapesp.br/en/9265) and hereinafter set forth.

1. Eligibility from UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA side

1.1 Eligibility to submit proposals within the scope of this Call:

a. Regular faculty members. Adjunct faculty members are also eligible if the term of their appointment extends beyond the duration of the project submitted to this Call.

1.2 Eligibility for the exchange activities within the scope of this Call

a. Regular faculty members, adjunct faculty members, and post-doctoral researchers.

2. Fields of knowledge

This Call for Proposals invites research proposals in all fields of knowledge.

3. Duration of the project for the exchange of researchers

The maximum duration of each project is up to 24 months.

4. Funding principles

FAPESP will provide funding of up to the equivalent of USD$10,000.00 per proposal per year and UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA will provide funding of up to US$10,000.00 per proposal per year, for the duration of the grant to cover research-related mobility expenses, under the provisions of Clause 5 of the Scientific Cooperation Agreement established by the Parties (www.fapesp.br/en/6919).

5. Proposal characteristics f or UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA researchers

Proposals must be accompanied by a Research Application Summary Form (RASF).

6. Submission of proposals to UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA

Submissions can only be accepted by the Office of Research Services.

7. Result of the analysis

Final results will be announced on FAPESP (www.fapesp.br) and UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA (www.uvic.ca) web portals and by means of a communication to the interested PIs.

8. Contract for selected projects by UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA

Selected proposals will subject to the conditions set forth in the University of Victoria Internal Research Grant (IRG) 2015-16 Guidelines.
