FAPESP announces a second call for proposals to fund research projects in Sustainable Management of Water Resources, under the cooperation agreement with the European Union – Horizon 2020.

The call is issued in partnership with the Brazilian National Council of State Funding Agencies (CONFAP) and the Water JPI Initiative.

The following themes for the call are targeted in the thematic area from the Water JPI Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda: “Enabling Sustainable Management of Water Resources”, “Strengthening Socio-economic Approaches to Water Management” and “Supporting Tools for Sustainable Integrated Management of Water Resources”.

Each proposal related to FAPESP must have one principal investigator from the State of São Paulo and at least two foreign principal investigators, each one from a different country among the participant countries of this call. Above these minimum criteria for the composition of consortia, the participation of principal investigators from other Brazilian States is encouraged.

In the State of São Paulo, FAPESP will fund researchers affiliated to higher education and research institutions according to its Regular Research Awards rules and instructions. Some modifications and exceptionalities apply to this call. The maximum budget per proposal is R$ 100 thousand per year for up to 3 years.

The call is organized in two phases. In the pre-proposal phase, principal investigators must follow the procedures described in the international call, until April 24, 2018. This is also the deadline for eligibility consultations to FAPESP.

In the second phase, researchers from the State of São Paulo with approved pre-proposals will be instructed about the submission of complete proposals, through SAGe, until September 18, 2018.

Guidelines for researchers from the State of São Paulo are available at: www.fapesp.br/en/11638.
