FAPESP announces a new call for proposals to support research internships in Italian universities. The opportunity is open for proposals for FAPESP’s Research Internships Abroad scheme (BEPE in Portuguese).

The call is launched in the context of the memorandum of understanding between FAPESP, the Brazilian National Council of State Funding Agencies (CONFAP) and the University of Bologna, acting as Technical Secretariat of the network of Italian Universities. The aim is to facilitate and support scientific, technological and innovation collaboration between Brazil and Italy, in all areas of knowledge.

The research internship in Italy must be part of a research project in a regular FAPESP fellowship in the State of São Paulo and support cannot be requested independently. Applicants must have a collaborator associated to a university in Italy as their supervisor (host researcher). Nineteen Italian institutions are eligible in this call.

Fellowship levels available in this call are: Master’s (BEPE-MS), Doctorate (BEPE-DR), Direct Doctorate (BEPE-DD) and Post-doctorate (BEPE-PD). The approval of the research internship in Italy implies the interruption of the FAPESP fellowship in the State of São Paulo, to be resumed after the student/researcher return from abroad.

The deadline for proposals submission July 31, 2018.

Guidelines for applicants from the State of São Paulo are available at www.fapesp.br/11763.
