  O Centro de Computação em Engenharia e Ciências (CCES) da UNICAMP está com 4 vagas abertas para pós-doutorado na área de simulações de dinâmica molecular. A pesquisa será supervisionada pelos Profs. Munir S. Skaf e/ou Leandro Martínez, do Instituto de Química da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP).

  Os projetos envolvem uma ou mais das seguintes atividades:

  - Investigar a estrutura, dinâmica e mecanismos de reação de enzimas envolvidas na degradação de carboidratos.

  - Compreender os efeitos do solvente em proteínas e outras macromoléculas: na sua agregação, interação com ligantes, atividade catalítica e propriedades estruturais.

  - Implementar software para análise de dados provenientes de simulações.

  Os candidatos devem possuir, no momento da implementação da bolsa,* doutorado em química, física, biologia, biotecnologia, bioinformática ou áreas afins.

  Experiência sólida em simulações de dinâmica molecular é essencial. Para os interessados em desenvolvimento de software, experiência em programação é crucial, e conhecimento na linguagem de programação Julia é bem-vindo.

  A bolsa será concedida a partir de 1º de novembro de 2024, ou quando o candidato estiver disponível, até maio de 2026.

  A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 12.000,00 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 10% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  The Center for Computing in Engineering and Sciences (CCES) at UNICAMP is seeking to fill 4 postdoctoral positions in the area of molecular dynamics simulations. The research will be supervised by Profs. Munir S. Skaf and/or Leandro Martínez, of the Institute of Chemistry of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP).

  The projects involve one or more of the following activities:

  Investigating the structure, dynamics, and reaction mechanisms of enzymes involved in carbohydrate degradation.

  Understanding solvent effects in proteins and other macro-molecules: in their aggregation, interaction with ligands, catalytic activity, and structural properties.

  Implementing software for data analysis from simulations.

  Candidates must hold, at the moment of the implementation of the fellowship,* a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related areas. Solid experience in molecular dynamics simulations is essential. For those interested in software development, programming experience is crucial, and knowledge of the Julia programming language is welcome.

  The fellowship will be awarded starting from November 1st, 2024, or when the candidate is available, until May 2026.

  This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,000.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
