  • Resumo Summary

    A Fundação de Amparo À Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) financia o projeto "Conceptual study of an advanced ethanol-fueled engine", em parceria com a PCBA.

    Este projeto inicial possui duração prevista de 4 anos, mas o apoio da FAPESP e da PCBA poderá se estender por até 10 anos.

    O objetivo principal deste projeto é desenvolver conceitos tecnológicos aplicados a motores dedicados a etanol, que possam aumentar de forma significativa sua eficiência em todos os regimes de operação.

    Sob este projeto há uma (01) vaga para pós-doutor, oferecida junto ao Departamento de Energia da Faculdade de Engenharia Mecânica da UNICAMP (www.fem.unicamp.br).

    Os candidatos devem possuir doutorado na área de Termodinâmica Aplicada - Motores de Combustão Interna - e interesse científico no uso de biocombustíveis em motores de combustão interna.

    Adicionalmente, os interessados devem ter excelente currículo (publicações) e conhecimento avançado em temas como: análise de ensaios de motores, simulação de desempenho de motores, e tecnologias de ponta para aplicação em motores (downsizing, turbo-alimentação, uso de EGR, comando de válvulas variável, etc.).

    Os candidatos selecionados estarão particularmente envolvidos no desenvolvimento de pesquisa científica e, possivelmente, orientação de estudantes de (pós) graduação.

    A bolsa de pós-doutorado tem vigência de dois anos, com possibilidade de extensão por mais 24 meses. O valor da bolsa é o padrão definido pela FAPESP, mais auxílio-transporte (deslocamento para Campinas) e instalação (www.fapesp.br/270#2).

    Para informações adicionais sobre o Projeto, cronograma e pessoal envolvido, contatar o Coordenador do Projeto no e-mail gallo@fem.unicamp.br.

    Para candidatar-se, envie para o e-mail acima os seguintes documentos no formato PDF:
    (i) Carta de apresentação pessoal explicando suas motivações;
    (ii) Curriculum Vitae;
    (iii) Descrição de trajetória profissional e/ou acadêmica; e
    (iv) Duas cartas de recomendação aos cuidados do Prof. Waldyr L. R. Gallo (Coordenador), com referência à vaga de pós-doutorado supracitada.

    The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) supports the project "Conceptual study of an advanced ethanol-fueled engine", in partnership with the PCBA.

    This initial project is scheduled to four (04) years, but the financial support of FAPESP and PCBA may be extended up to 10 years.

    The main objective of this project is to develop technological concepts applied to engines dedicated to ethanol, which are intended to significantly increase its efficiency in all operating regimes.

    Under this project there is one (01) Postdoctoral Fellowship, offered by FAPESP and to be exerted at the Department of Energy of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UNICAMP (www.fem.unicamp.br).

    Applicants must have a PhD in Internal Combustion Engines and scientific interest in the use of biofuels in internal combustion engines.

    In addition, applicants must have excellent curriculum (publications) and advanced knowledge on topics such as: engine test analysis, engine performance simulation, and advanced technologies for application in engines (downsizing, turbocharging, EGR use, variable valve systems, etc.).

    The selected candidate will be particularly involved in the development of scientific research and orientation of undergraduate and graduate students.

    Post-doctoral fellowship is valid for two (02) years with possibility of extension for another two years. The scholarship is the standard value set by FAPESP (R$ 6.143,40 in 2014), plus transportation allowance (offset to Campinas) and installation costs.

    For additional information about the project, schedule and personnel involved, contact the Project Coordinator: gallo@fem.unicamp.br

    To apply, send to the e-mail above the following documents in PDF format:
    (i) Cover letter explaining your motivations;
    (ii) Curriculum Vitae;
    (iii) Description of your academic or professional career;
    (iv) Two recommendation letters under the care of Prof. Waldyr LR Gallo (Coordinator), with reference to this post-doctoral fellowship.

    This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 6,143.40 (around 2,600 USD) monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
