  • Resumo Summary

    O Centro de Aquicultura da UNESP, campus de Jaboticabal, SP oferece vaga para pós-doutorado com bolsa FAPESP.

    Os candidatos devem ter concluído o doutoramento há menos de 7 (sete) anos, com titulação na área de Zootecnia, Medicina Veterinária ou Aquicultura, não ter vínculo empregatício, dedicar-se exclusivamente ao projeto de pesquisa, ter experiência comprovada em nutrição aminoacídica de organismos aquáticos e modelagem e ter conhecimento da língua inglesa para redação, leitura e conversação.

    O selecionado atuará no desenvolvimento do projeto temático "Modelagem da produção e das exigências nutricionais de aves e peixes" (Processo FAPESP 2013/25761-4).

    As atividades a serem realizadas compreendem:

    - Desenvolver o projeto "Método de determinação da composição corporal de peixes in vivo pelo uso da técnica não-invasiva", relacionado ao projeto temático, vide resumo abaixo;

    - Participar no desenvolvimento de novas metodologias que serão padronizadas durante a realização do projeto;

    - Acompanhar atividades relacionadas ao projeto temático, dando apoio aos estudantes no desenvolvimento de teses e dissertações, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento e andamento adequado dos estudos realizados, bem como na redação dos relatórios e artigos.

    Resumo do projeto a ser desenvolvido: Este plano tem por objetivo padronizar a técnica da absorciometria por duplo feixe de raios-x (DXA) e aplicar para modelar os principais constituintes químicos durante as fases de desenvolvimento dos peixes.

    O primeiro estudo será realizado para obter a equação da reta padrão de correspondência dos valores estimados pelo DXA para pacus (Piaractus mesopotamicus) e tilápias (Oreochromis niloticus).

    A composição química dos indivíduos será determinada pelo DXA e pelo o método do abate comparativo (AC). Por meio da relação entre os valores obtidos por ambas as técnicas irá gerar a equação da reta, sendo Y os valores a serem estimado correspondentes à AC e o eixo X os valores preditores obtidos pelo DXA. Esta relação será aplicada para cada componente químico (água, proteína, matéria mineral e gordura).

    No segundo estudo será caracterizado a curva de crescimento do corpo e dos principais componentes químicos dos animais em um ambiente adequado e não limitante.

    Os experimentos serão conduzidos no Centro de Aquicultura da UNESP (durante o transcorrer do projeto temático), onde os peixes serão acompanhados e escaneados pela DXA ao longo de 12 meses.

    No terceiro estudo os resultados a serem obtidos permitirão caracterizar o potencial genético de cada indivíduo, a média da população e sua variabilidade, além de possibilitar a criação de uma planilha eletrônica em linguagem de Excel Visual Basic que determinará a composição corporal dos peixes em tempo real, onde as variáveis de entrada serão os dados gerados pelas leituras da DXA e as variáveis de saída os componentes químicos (proteína, água, gordura e matéria mineral).

    A bolsa tem duração de dois anos, e os interessados deverão candidatar-se até 25 de janeiro de 2016.

    Os documentos necessários são currículo Lattes (curriculum vitae para estrangeiros) contendo lista de publicações, cópia da tese de doutorado (.pdf) e duas cartas de recomendação, todos anexados, via e-mail, ao pesquisador principal do projeto temático Prof. Dr. João Batista Kochenborger Fernandes (jbatista@caunesp.unesp.br).

    A vaga está aberta para brasileiros e estrangeiros. Qualquer dúvida ou esclarecimento sobre o pós-doutorado entrar em contato com Thiago Nascimento (thiago_zoounesp@yahoo.com.br).

    Aquaculture Center of UNESP (Jaboticabal/Sao Paulo/Brazil) offers a Postdoctoral fellowship (for Brazilian and International Scholars) with grant.

    Candidates should have Ph.D. degree obtained in less than 7 years in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine or Aquaculture, may not have employment/job, should dedicate exclusively to the research project, have proven experience on amino acids nutrition of aquatic organisms and modeling and have knowledge on writing, reading and speaking English.

    The selected candidate will work in the development of the project "Modeling production and nutritional requirements of poultry and fish" (FAPESP Process 2013/25761-4).

    The activities to be performed are:

    - Development of the the research project "Method of determining body composition of fish in vivo while using non-invasive technique", related to the thematic FAPESP project, according to the abstract below;

    - Participation in the development of new methodologies that will be standardized during the course of the project;

    - Development of activities related to the thematic project, helping students in the development of thesis/dissertations, contributing to the development and conduction of appropriate research studies, as well as drafting of research reports and articles.

    Abstract of the research project to be conducted: This plan aims to standardize absorptiometry technique by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and to apply it to model the main chemical constituents of fish during the development stages.

    The first study will be conducted to obtain the standard equation of the matching of the values estimated by DXA for pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus) and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

    The chemical composition will be determined by the DXA method while using the comparative slaughter (CS) technique. Through the relationship between the values obtained by both techniques will generate the (straight-line equation) and Y values to be estimated corresponding to the CS and the X axis predictors values obtained by DXA.

    This relationship will apply for each chemical component (water, protein, ash and fat). In the second study will be characterized in the growth body curve of the main chemical components in a suitable and not limiting environment for animals (fish).

    The experiments will be conducted at the Aquaculture Center of UNESP (during the course of the thematic project), where the fish will be monitored and scanned by DXA over 12 months.

    In the third study the results to be obtained will allow to define the genetic potential of each individual, the average population and its variability, and will enable the development of a spreadsheet in Excel Visual Basic language that determines the body composition in real time where the input variables are generated by the DXA data and output variables of the chemical components (protein, water, fat and ash).

    The postdoctoral grant has two years duration. Interested candidates should apply until January 25, 2016.

    The documents required are; Curriculum vitae (CV Lattes for Brazilians) with list of publications, copy of the Ph.D. thesis (pdf) and two letters of recommendation.

    Documents should be attached in an email to the principal researcher of the project, Dr. Joao Batista Kochenborger Fernandes (jbatista@caunesp.unesp.br). For any questions about this fellowship, please contact Thiago Nascimento (thiago_zoounesp@yahoo.com.br).
