  O Dr. Fernando de Queiroz Cunha (PI, Laboratório de Inflamação e Dor) está buscando um indivíduo altamente motivado para pós-doutoramento no Centro de Pesquisa em Doenças Inflamatórias - CRID, da Universidade de São Paulo em Ribeirão Preto. O candidato bem sucedido pode ser financiado por até 3 anos na posição de pesquisa de pós-doutorado, em um projeto financiado pela FAPESP.
  
  O candidato altamente motivado deve ter obtido seu diploma de doutorado nos últimos 4 anos em uma das seguintes áreas: Farmacologia, Bioquímica, Biologia Celular / Molecular ou campos similares. O candidato deve estar interessado na farmacologia molecular dos receptores acoplados à proteína G (GPCRs), particularmente de adrenoceptores alfa-1 nativos de tecidos musculares lisos e receptores recombinantes humanos expressos heterologicamente em sistemas celulares. O candidato deve ser capaz de projetar experiências e realizar pesquisas baseadas em hipóteses envolvendo lenços de músculos lisos isolados em banhos de órgãos, cultura de células assépticas, transfecção, ligação de radioligando, ensaios de sinalização intracelular e identificação, quantificação e análise de agonismo tendencioso. Excelentes habilidades de comunicação oral e escrita são necessárias.

  Dr. Fernando de Queiroz Cunha (PI, Laboratory of Inflammation and Pain, Center for Research in Inflammatory Diseases - CRID, University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto) is seeking for a highly motivated postdoctoral individual. The successful applicant can be funded for up to 3 years in postdoctoral research position in a project financed by FAPESP.
  
  The highly motivated candidate should have taken his/her PhD degree within the past 4 years in one of the following areas: Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Cellular/Molecular Biology or similar fields. The candidate must be interested in the molecular pharmacology of G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs), particularly of alpha-1 adrenoceptors native from smooth muscle tissues and human recombinant receptors heterologously expressed in cell systems. The candidate must be capable of designing experiments and conducting hypothesis based research involving isolated smooth muscle tissues in organ baths, aseptic cell culture, transfection, radioligand binding, intracellular signalling assays and identification, quantification and analysis of biased agonism. Excelent oral and writen communication skills are required.

  Abstract
  Inflammatory and infectious diseases are a complex and heterogeneous group of diseases that affect more than 10% of the world population. The current options for treating inflammatory diseases are still limited and in some cases ineffective due to limited understanding of their underlying mechanisms. The Center for Research in Inflammatory Diseases (CRID) performs integrative and translational research to generate scientific knowledge and to identify new therapeutic targets for inflammatory diseases. The overall objective of the CRID is to identify, validate and target novel biological pathways involved in inflammatory processes. The specific goal of the Center will be to advance the pathophysiological understanding of inflammatory diseases including infectious diseases. The general goal of the CRID is to identify, validate and target specific processes related to inflammatory diseases. The post-doctoral fellow may be familiar with techniques including Cellular and Molecular Biology and/or Biochemistry and/or Imaging and may dedicate his/her efforts to identify novel genes and signaling pathways involved in host cell signaling in response to host cell infection with intracellular pathogens.
  
  This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP's Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 6.819,30 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
