  • Resumo Summary

    Anunciamos a abertura de posição de Pós-Doutorado junto à Faculdade de Educação da Universidade de São Paulo. A posição é ligada ao Projeto Temático FAPESP intitulado “Saberes e práticas em fronteiras: por uma história transnacional da educação (1810 - ...)”, coordenado por Diana Gonçalves Vidal. No âmbito desse projeto, estão abertas as inscrições para candidaturas ao desenvolvimento do subprojeto “História da Educação, Formação de professores e Diversidade (1980 aos dias atuais)”.

    O projeto de Pós-Doutorado referente ao Eixo 4 – Materiais didáticos para ensino público e formação de professores – pretende discutir as contribuições da História da Educação no que concerne às iniciativas voltadas para se dar conta da diversidade no cotidiano escolar, no âmbito da formação inicial e continuada de professores. A temática da diversidade diz respeito não só às diferenças relativas aos processos de ensino-aprendizagem, mas também à incorporação de segmentos historicamente excluídos que exige o debate de questões ligadas à etnia, imigração e ao gênero, por exemplo, que envolvem várias dimensões do cotidiano escolar. Tais questões dizem respeito desde linguagem, hábitos e valores de diferentes culturas, passando por vestuários e outros aspectos ligados à imagem dos sujeitos que fazem parte da escola (cabelos, sotaque, configurações familiares, por exemplo), até o conteúdo, alguns materiais escolares (como lápis e canetinhas “cor da pele”) e a natureza das atividades pedagógicas propostas que afetam diretamente a incorporação desses segmentos e têm um papel fundamental para modificar a relação entre os sujeitos que ali convivem (alunos, professores, membros da equipe gestora e funcionários).

    Essas discussões poderão promover experiências mais profícuas no que concerne ao desenvolvimento profissional e aos processos formativos realizados no ambiente escolar. Dessa forma, algumas questões deverão nortear a pesquisa: como entender algumas ações que ainda hoje podem ser consideradas excludentes no interior das instituições escolares? Qual contribuição a produção da História da Educação pode trazer ao mapeamento dos marcos referentes ao debate acerca da diversidade no contexto escolar e na formação docente? De que maneira a escola parceira deste projeto vem lidando com a diversidade em termos das ações desenvolvidas (documentos produzidos, atividades voltadas aos docentes, discentes e funcionários etc.)? Como alguns professores lidam com a diversidade tendo em vista suas trajetórias de formação?

    Embora se possa afirmar que no âmbito legal, teórico e das orientações pedagógicas voltadas às instituições escolares haja, desde a década de 1980, uma preocupação crescente com a diversidade, entende-se que ainda há muitos desafios encontrados pelas escolas e seus sujeitos para lidar com essa temática. Não obstante a existência de propostas de ações – elas mesmas uma demanda das autoridades escolares – inúmeras questões presentes no cotidiano esbarram em preconceitos e dificuldades em termos das diferenças das formas de aprender, de gênero, de religião etc. Tais considerações evocam uma importante contribuição de Augustín Escolano (1999), ao distinguir três culturas da escola: política ou normativa, ou seja, corresponde às regras que governam o funcionamento das escolas; científica ou pedagógica, elaborada, segundo o autor, para explicar ou propor modos de trabalho tipicamente escolares; e, por fim, empírica, prática ou material, sendo produzida cotidianamente pelos docentes. Assim, ainda que tais culturas dialoguem, elas possuem dinâmicas e ritmos diversos, o que poderia explicar, por exemplo, o aumento significativo de materiais pedagógicos e textos de apoio para o trabalho docente e práticas e ações cotidianas que são contraditórias se levados em conta os documentos legais e orientações pedagógicas, neste caso, sobre a diversidade. Nesse sentido, incorporar ao exame dessas fontes documentais a análise das trajetórias de formação e das memórias da prática profissional permitiria compreender as formas de apropriação dessas orientações, numa tentativa de apreender indícios de como elas têm influenciado as experiências vivenciadas na escola pelos diferentes sujeitos que nela atuam no que concerne à alteridade e, de alguma forma, têm transformado a cultura que lhe é própria.

    Desse modo, o pesquisador de pós-doutorado deverá desenvolver as seguintes as atividades:

    - Pesquisa em periódicos especializados da área de Educação, publicados a partir da década de 1980, para identificar como a questão da diversidade é tratada nesse material;
    - Leitura, sistematização e análise de memórias de formação e atuação profissional a serem produzidas por professores e equipe gestora, conforme eixos estabelecidos pelo pesquisador, com vistas a reconhecer as relações estabelecidas entre suas trajetórias e o modo pelo qual esses profissionais têm lidado com a diversidade;
    - Leitura, sistematização e análise de documentos produzidos pelos sujeitos da instituição (Projeto Político Pedagógico, Regimento Escolar, entre outros), além da observação durante alguns meses do cotidiano escolar de modo a perceber em que medida os dados presentes nas memórias de alguns professores e gestores repercutem nas ações da instituição.

    We hereby announce the opening of a Post-Doctorate Fellow position at the School of Education of the University of São Paulo. The post is linked to the Thematic Project entitled “Knowledges and practices at the borders: for a transnational history of education (1810-…),” coordinated by Diana Gonçalves Vidal with funding from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). Within the main project we welcome applications for the development of the subproject “History of Education, Teacher education and Diversity (from 1980 to the present day)”.

    The post-doc Project linked to Axis 4 – Didactic materials for public education and teacher education – intends to discuss the contributions of History of Education regarding the initiatives focused on raising awareness of the diversity in the school daily life, within the scope of initial and continued teacher education. The theme of diversity concerns not only the differences related to teaching-learning processes, but also the incorporation of historically excluded segments that requires the debate of questions associated to ethnicity, immigration and gender, for example, involving various dimensions of the school daily life. Such issues involve from language, habits and values in different cultures, through clothing and other aspects associated to the image of the subjects that are part of the school (hair, accent, family configurations, for example), up to the content, some school materials (such as pencils and “skin colored” coloring pens) and the nature of pedagogical activities proposed that affect directly the incorporation of these segments, and play a fundamental role in modifying the relationships between the individuals that interact there (pupils, teachers, management and staff).

    These discussions may promote more fertile experiences connected to the professional development and formative processes conducted in the school environment. Thus, some questions that should guide the research are: How can we understand some actions that still today can be considered as excluding within school institutions? What can the History of Education contribute to map out the landmarks on the debate about diversity within the school context and teacher education? In which way the school partner in this project has been dealing with diversity in terms of the actions developed (documents produced, activities focused on teachers, students and staff etc.)? How some of the teachers deal with diversity considering their own formation trajectories?

    Although we can say in legal and theoretical terms, as well as in terms of the pedagogical guidelines for school institutions, that there is since the 1980s a growing concern with diversity, we understand that schools and its members still face many challenges to deal with this theme, with the existence of proposals for action coming from demands of school authorities, but many questions present in the school daily life run against prejudices and difficulties in terms of the differences in the ways of learning, of gender, of religion etc. These considerations evoke an important contribution by Augustín Escolano (1999), when distinguishing three school cultures: political or normative, that is, corresponding to the rules that govern the workings in schools; scientific or pedagogical, elaborated, according to the author, to explain or propose school-typical ways of working; lastly, empirical, practical or material, being produced on a daily basis by the teachers. Therefore, even if such cultures dialogue among themselves, they possess different dynamics and rhythms, which can explain, for example, the significant increase in the number of pedagogical materials and support texts for the teaching work and daily practices and actions that are contradictory when we take into account the legal documents and pedagogical orientations, specifically in this case, about diversity. In this sense, incorporating the analysis of the trajectories of formation and memories of professional practice into the examination of these documentary sources would allow to understand the forms of appropriation of these orientations, in an attempt to gather evidences of how they have influenced the experiences at school by the different subjects living in it with regard to alterity and, in some way, how they have transformed the culture that is proper to the school.

    Along these lines, the post-doc fellow will develop the following activities:

    - Research in journals specialized in the area of Education published since the 1980s in order to identify how the question of diversity is treated in this material;
    - Reading, systematization and analysis of memoirs of formation and professional work to be produced by teachers and managing teams according to axes established by the researcher with a view to recognize the relations established between their trajectories and the way in which these professionals have been dealing with diversity;
    - Reading, systematization and analysis of documents produced by the subjects in the institution (Political Pedagogical Project, School Regiment, among others), apart from the observation during a few months of the school daily life so as to perceive to what extent the data present in the memoirs of some of the teachers and management staff impact the actions in the institution.
