FAPESP Week Munich will take place from October 15th to 17th, 2014 at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, Germany.

The FAPESP Week symposia connect leading scientists from the State of São Paulo, Brazil with colleagues from other countries. In 2014, FAPESP Week will happen in Germany for the first time, taking advantage of the regional partnership between the State of São Paulo and the Free State of Bavaria.

As a scientific symposium and meeting platform, FAPESP Week Munich will have sessions covering Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Energy, and Environment.

The FAPESP Week symposium will create opportunities for connecting researchers in Germany and in São Paulo, Brazil,promoting collaboration in research topics relevant to both countries.

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) is a public foundation with the mission of supporting research in all fields of knowledge.

FAPESP is aware that the excellence in research requires working with the best scientists worldwide. To facilitate collaborations FAPESP has established partnerships with funding agencies, companies, higher education and research organizations in countries known for the quality of their research, and encourages scientists funded through its grants to further develop their international research collaboration.

The Bavarian University Center for Latin America (BAYLAT) is a state service organization that works Bavarian wide to promote the international network building between Bavarian and Latin-American universities. Besides that, BAYLAT is in charge of increasing the fame of Bavaria as a center of innovation, apprenticeship and science in Latin America. The objectives of BAYLAT are directly connected to the internationalization strategy of the higher education institutions of the Free State of Bavaria. To fulfill these objectives BAYLAT plans and implements its activities within the concept of science and higher education diplomacy.

Since 2011 FAPESP has organized scientific symposiums in Washington, Morgantown, Cambridge, Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Raleigh (USA), Toronto (Canada), Salamanca, Madrid (Spain), Tokyo (Japan), London (England) and Beijing (China).
