Graduated in Dentistry (1986), MSc (1992) and PhD (1996) in Restorative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry at Araraquara in São Paulo State University (FOAr/Unesp). Associate Professor in 2003 and, Full Professor at FOAr/Unesp, since 2010.
From 1998 to 2000, had a position as a researcher fellow at the University College London (UCL), London, UK, developing studies in the field of biomaterials for dental applications. Current research interests include oral microbial biofilms and functional materials for microbial inactivation.
Head of the Graduate Program in Oral Rehabilitation at Unesp, from 2007 to 2013, International Relations Advisor at Unesp, from 2013-2016, and Chief of Staff of Unesp, from 2017 to 2020. Research fellow of CNPq (1C) and leader of the research group “Biomaterials and Biofilm” (CNPq, 2013-).
