He has a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Minas Gerais a degree in Science from Pontifícia Católica of Minas Gerais, a master's degree in Biological Sciences from the Physiology and Pharmacology Program at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology) from Unifesp, with partly developed at the Max Delbuck Institute (MDC), Berlin, Germany.

Full professor at the Department of Biophysics at the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp). He was a senior guest professor at the MDC in Berlin. He is a CNPq-1B Research Productivity Fellow. He was head of the Biophysics Department from 2017-2023.

He has experience in Biophysics, participating in the following topics: kinins, kallikrein, transgenic animals, metabolism and physical exercise. Accredited advisor for the Postgraduate Programs in Molecular Biology and Nephrology at Unifesp, since 2008.
