Raquel Assed Bezerra Segato

Advisor to the General Coordination – Health Sciences 2 (Dentistry)

She graduated in Dentistry from the Araraquara School of Dentistry, São Paulo State University “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” (FOAr-Unesp) in 2002. She completed her Master's and Doctorate in Pediatric Dentistry at the Ribeirão Preto School of Dentistry, University of São Paulo (Forp/USP) between 2003 and 2007.

Since 2008, she has been a Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Forp/USP. She completed her Post-Doctorate in 2009, with a FAPESP scholarship, at The Forsyth Institute, in Boston, USA. She holds a CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship (1D) and is the Leader of the Research Groups "Prevention in Dentistry", "Center for Dental Research in Special Patients" and "Center for Teaching and Research in Pediatric Dentistry and Public Health (NEPOS)". She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Dentistry for Children. She works in the areas of Cell Biology, Immunology and Pathology with an emphasis on the host response to pulp and periapical pathologies.

She has been the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Pediatric Dentistry (Forp/USP) since 2015 and a Full Professor at Forp/USP since 2020. She was President of the Postgraduate Committee of Forp/USP from 2018 to 2022. She was the Coordinator of the Double Doctorate Degree Agreement signed between Forp/USP and the Universidad Nacional Autonoma do Mexico (Unam). She is Vice-Coordinator of the Office for Management of Academic Performance Indicators (Egida) at the USP Rectorate.
