Result of the FAPESP-MIT Call for Proposals Fund to support proposals for exchange between researchers in the state of São Paulo and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

The Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP, São Paulo Research Foundation) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) announced the results of their recent call for proposals to fund researcher exchange, which was opened on May 17, 2010 (FAPESP Call no. 06/2010).

Proposals related to various fields of study were approved. In the state of Sao Paulo, proposals were submitted by researchers affiliated with institutions of higher learning or research institutes, all heads of projects already funded by FAPESP.

In the United States, all proposals were submitted by researchers who are affiliated with MIT and are grantees of MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) Global Seed Funds.

During the period covered by the award, FAPESP and MIT will fund the winning proposals with combined resources of up to $30,000 ($20,000 in research grants and $10,000 in fellowships), and those funds are designated exclusively for moving and living expenses (airfare, per diem allowances, and health insurance), in accordance with the terms of the agreement between the two institutions.
