Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Deep Learning

• Resumo Summary

  Bolsa de pós-doutorado na área de inteligência artificial para atuar no “Centro de Ciência para o Desenvolvimento em Agricultura Digital”, que busca ampliar a produção e a produtividade agrícola de maneira mais sustentável por meio do uso de tecnologias digitais.

  As atividades envolvem: i) coleta de imagens proximais e de drones em campo; ii) aplicação de modelos de aprendizado profundo às bases de imagens geradas para resolver problemas incluindo, mas não limitados a, detecção e contagem de gado e detecção de doenças em plantas; iii) produção de relatórios técnicos e trabalhos científicos relacionados com o escopo do projeto.

  O bolsista deverá ter obtido o título de doutor há menos de 7 (sete) anos, no país ou no exterior, em Ciência da Computação, Engenharia da Computação, Engenharia Elétrica, Engenharia Agrícola, Engenharia Agronômica, Matemática ou áreas afins. Deseja-se: i) boa capacidade de comunicação oral e escrita; ii) capacidade de atuação em equipe interdisciplinar; iii) adequação ao estabelecimento de metas e o cumprimento de prazos; iv) conhecimento em linguagem de programação (ex. Python, C++); v) capacidade de leitura, interpretação e escrita no idioma inglês.

  A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 8.479,20 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 10% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  The Center of Science for Development in Digital Agriculture (CCD-AD/SemeAr) has opened a post-doctoral position in the area of artificial intelligence. The project is led by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA), is supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), and has the objective to employ digital technologies to promote the sustainable growth of agricultural production and productivity.

  The activities to be carried out include the collection of proximal and remote (UAVs) images in the field; application of deep learning models to the datasets built to address problems that include, but are not limited to, detecting and counting cattle and recognizing plant diseases; and writing technical reports and scientific articles related with the scope of the work.

  The candidate should have received a Ph.D. title within the last 7 years, with experience in deep learning and computer vision and:

  - Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and Matlab;
  - Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team;
  - Good oral and written communication skills;
  - Good reading, writing and interpretation proficiency in the English language.

  The post-doctoral position is open to candidates of any nationality, and has a duration of 2 years. The selected applicant will receive a FAPESP PD-BR fellowship with a monthly grant of R$8,479.20 and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
