  • Resumo Summary

    O Cluster de Pesquisa em Medicina Experimental (EMRC) e o Centro de Pesquisas em Obesidade e Comorbidades (OCRC) da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), Campinas, São Paulo, Brasil, oferecem uma bolsa de pós-doutorado em projeto relacionado aos trabalhos da Força-Tarefa Unicamp Contra COVID-19. Este projeto tem como objetivo desvendar os fatores de risco e mecanismos subjacentes à maior suscetibilidade de idosos e indivíduos obesos para a progressão para o estágio grave de COVID-19. O envelhecimento e a obesidade são importantes preditores de mortalidade pela COVID-19.

    Estamos recrutando um pós-doutorando que fará parte de um projeto em andamento com o objetivo de: entender por que o envelhecimento é um fator de risco para a COVID-19 e como medicamentos que visam senescência e vias relacionadas à idade atuam contra a infecção por SARS-CoV-2; estudar como a infecção do tecido adiposo pelo vírus contribui para a patogênese de COVID-19. O projeto será liderado pelo Prof. Dr. Marcelo A. Mori.

    Inscrições até 08/08 no e-mail: morima@unicamp.br (Assunto: PD no LaBE-OCRC). Os candidatos devem encaminhar os seguintes documentos:

    a) Declaração de interesse, descrevendo motivos do seu interesse nesta vaga e as principais técnicas laboratoriais nas quais você é especialista;
    b) Duas cartas de recomendação;
    c) Breve resumo da tese de doutorado;
    d) Curriculum Vitae resumido.

    A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 7.373,10 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 10% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

    The Experimental Medicine Research Cluster (EMRC) and the Obesity and Comorbidities Research Center (OCRC) at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil, offer a post-doctoral fellowship in a project related to the works of the UNICAMP Task Force Against COVID-19. This project aims to unravel the risk factors and mechanisms underlying the greater susceptibility of elderly and obese individuals to progression to the severe stage of COVID-19. Aging and obesity are important predictors of mortality by COVID-19.

    We are recruiting a post-doctoral fellow who will be part of an ongoing project with objective of: understanding why aging is a risk factor for COVID-19 and as drugs aimed at senescence and age-related pathways act against the SARS-CoV-2 infection; to study how the virus infection of adipose tissue contributes to the pathogenesis of COVID-19. The project will be led by Prof. Dr. Marcelo A. Mori.

    Applications until 08/08 via e-mail: morima@unicamp.br (Subject: PD at LaBE-OCRC). Candidates must submit the following documents:

    a) Declaration of interest, describing the reasons for your interest in this position and the main laboratory techniques in which you are an expert;
    b) Two letters of recommendation;
    c) Brief summary of the doctoral thesis;
    d) Summary Curriculum Vitae.

    This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
