• Resumo Summary

  O projeto “Vozes da Amazônia Indígena: processos históricos de sociobiodiversidade frente aos desafios do Antropoceno” está abrindo uma vaga de pós-doutorado em paleoecologia/arqueobotânica com base na Universidade de São Paulo. Os(As) candidatos(as) devem ser fluentes em português, falar e escrever bem em inglês, e ter experiência prévia e comprovada na análise de fitólitos.

  O projeto busca entender a natureza e distribuição espacial de práticas agrícolas e agroflorestais durante os últimos 1.500 anos no Território Indígena do Xingu, Mato Grosso, e aplicar esse conhecimento para ajudar a proteger a sociobiodiversidade da região.

  A pessoa contratada irá:

  1) Desenhar e realizar amostragens e análises paleoecológicas e arqueobotânicas focadas em fitólitos, carvão, análise de solos e datação carbono-14;

  2) Trabalhar diretamente com os pesquisadores indígenas e demais membros do projeto Vozes para garantir o cumprimento dos seus objetivos;

  3) Reconhecer o direito de usufruto exclusivo dos dados produzidos pelo projeto à Associação Indígena Kuikuro;

  4) Ajudar a produzir conteúdo educacional a partir dos resultados;

  5) Dar pelo menos um curso (de pós-graduação ou extensão) no MAE-USP.

  A vaga está aberta a brasileiros(as) e estrangeiros(as). O(A) selecionado(a) receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 12.000,00 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 10% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  The project “Voices of Indigenous Amazonia: historical processes of sociobiodiversity in the face of the challenges of the Anthropocene” is hiring a post-doctorate researcher in paleoecology/archaeobotany, to be based at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. The candidate must be fluent in Portuguese, speak and write well in English, and have proven previous experience in phytolith analysis.

  The project seeks to understand the nature and spatial distribution of agricultural and forest management practices over the last 1,500 years in the Xingu Indigenous Territory, Mato Grosso state, Brazil, and apply this knowledge to help protect sociobiodiversity in the region.

  The person hired for the project will:

  1) Design and carry out terrestrial paleoecological and archaeobotanical sampling and analysis focused on phytoliths, charcoal, soil analysis and carbon-14 dating;

  2) Work directly with indigenous researchers and other members of the Voices project to guarantee its objectives are met;

  3) Recognize the exclusive rights held by the Kuikuro Indigenous Association to any data produced by the project;

  4) Help produce educational content from the project’s results;

  5) Teach at least one course (post-graduate or extension) at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology (MAE-USP).

  This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 12,000.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
