The Experimental Laboratory of Enterobacteriaceae Pathogenicity of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Parasitology, Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil, has a post-doctoral fellowship from São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) for an immediate start and full-time dedication. The project will investigate the role of cytokines in the modulation of mucus production induced by atypical enteropathogenic E. coli in intestinal cell models. The fellowship is associated with the Project “Exploring new virulence strategies in Escherichia coli” (FAPESP grant number 2017/14821-7).

Candidates must have a doctorate in Microbiology or Immunology, obtained in the last seven years, and experience in molecular biology techniques and experimental models to analyze pathogenesis and immune response to bacteria. Being motivated, independent, and fluent in written and spoken English is necessary. Candidates should send to Dr. Tânia Gomes do Amaral (tatg.amaral@unifesp.br) by August 05, 2022, a short Curriculum Vitae, a motivation letter indicating the reason for their interest and a brief description of their experience in the area (maximum of 500 words), and two letters of recommendation.

The position is open to candidates of any nationality. The fellowship stipend is R$ 8,479.20 monthly; it includes a Research Contingency Fund (10% of the annual fellowship value) to meet unforeseen expenses related to the project.
