The candidate will collaborate with researchers from the project ResonMapDER promoted by TotalEnergies at the Research Centre for Gas Innovation (RCGI), an Engineering Research Center (ERC) jointly funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and Shell based at the University of São Paulo's Engineering School in Brazil. Summary of the program and projects can be found at the RCGI website (http://www.rcgi.poli.usp.br/).

The main objective of this research is to investigate the characteristics of resonances in power distribution systems with high penetration of distributed energy resources (DERs) and develop practical methods for managing (anticipating and mitigating) the risk of these events. Two main types of resonances will be investigated: resonances on low voltage distribution systems and resonances on medium voltage distribution systems.

This project is suitable for a highly motivated candidate. The candidate must have a doctoral degree in science or equivalent. Advanced knowledge of English is required. Basic knowledge of the French language is a plus. Experience in laboratory assembly (electrical) is a differential. In-depth knowledge of distribution networks and distributed energy resources is a requirement. Knowledge of voltage source converters and their control applied to photovoltaic generation and energy storage is a differential. The ability to produce scientific texts is expected.

This call offers 1 (one) grant for this project.

This postdoc scholarship is funded by FUSP (USP Support Foundation). The scholarship will cover a standard maintenance stipend of R$ 9.500,00 per month.
