  O TroPIDiv Lab (Laboratório de Biodiversidade Tropical Inseto-Planta) está à procura de candidatos para uma posição de técnico de alto nível (Treinamento Técnico nível cinco – TT-V; https://fapesp.br/valores/bolsasnopais), em Ecologia Tropical Molecular e Química. Nossa abordagem multidisciplinar tem como foco investigar os efeitos das mudanças climáticas na biodiversidade das interações inseto-planta em remanescentes de Mata Atlântica nos níveis taxonômico, molecular, fitoquímico e ecológico. O projeto utiliza técnicas de ponta e dados de diferentes áreas de pesquisa para evidenciar aspectos funcionais da diversidade tropical que se encontra em risco graças a impactos ambientais.
   
  As principais tarefas atribuídas a esta vaga incluem trabalho em campo frequentes, conhecimentos básicos de botânica e entomologia, análises moleculares e de genômica comparativa (GBS e DNA Barcoding), análises químicas de compostos voláteis (Cromatografia Gasosa-Espectrometria de Massa, GC-MS) e análises estatísticas integrativas de dados moleculares, químicos e ecológicos. Experiência prévia em todas estas áreas é altamente vantajosa, mas não necessária.
   
  Os candidatos devem ter (i) um título de doutor em qualquer área relacionada ao projeto e (ii) um mínimo de 5 anos de experiência prévia profissional e/ou acadêmica.

  The TroPIDiv Lab (Tropical Plant-Insect Diversity Lab) at the Environmental Research Institute (IPA) linked to the São Paulo State Department for the Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics (SEMIL-SP) in Brazil is seeking candidates for a high-level technician position (Level-5 Technician Training Fellowship; to see the monthly value of the fellowship, see reference table of the São Paulo Research Foundation-FAPESP, grantor institution), in Molecular and Chemical Tropical Ecology.

  Our multidisciplinary approach focuses on investigating the effects of climate change on the biodiversity of plant-insect interactions of Atlantic Forest remnants at the taxonomic, molecular, phytochemical and ecological levels. The project uses state-of-art techniques and data of different fields of research to evidence functional aspects of the threatened tropical diversity. 

  The main tasks include frequent field trips, basic botanical and entomological knowledge, molecular analysis and comparative genomics (GBS and DNA Barcoding), chemical analysis of volatile compounds (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, GC-MS) and integrative statistical analysis of chemical and ecological data. Previous experience in all these fields is highly advantageous but not necessary. 

  Candidates must have (i) a PhD degree in any area related to the project and (ii) a minimum of 5 years of previous professional and/or academic training.
