  Este edital leva ao conhecimento dos interessados que se encontram abertas as inscrições para a seleção de um (01) bolsista pós-doutoral junto à FAPESP para desenvolver projeto de pesquisa individual relacionado ao Projeto Temático “Política e classes sociais no capitalismo neoliberal” (n° 08/57112-7), coordenado por Armando Boito Júnior, professor do Departamento de Ciência Política da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), substituído temporariamente pela Profa. Leda Paulani da FEA/USP.

  1. DAS INSCRIÇÕES
  As inscrições deverão ocorrer por e-mail (prpmarcelino@gmail.com), no período de 01/05/2011 a 31/05/2011. Todos os e-mails enviados terão o recebimento confirmado em até 48h via resposta ao próprio e-mail. 
  
  2. A VAGA 
  O bolsista deverá desenvolver projeto de pesquisa cujo tema tenha ligação com o objetivo geral do projeto temático; qual seja: “O projeto visa a analisar o processo político e os conflitos sociais que tiveram como resultado a implantação do modelo capitalista neoliberal no Brasil, os efeitos da política neoliberal sobre os diferentes setores sociais envolvidos nesse processo e a posição econômica e política que tais setores ocupam no novo modelo econômico e na estrutura de poder vigente no país. A hipótese mais geral da pesquisa é que tal processo deve ser analisado, principalmente, como a resultante de conflitos de classes, frações de classe e camadas sociais, nas condições dadas por um país dependente semi-industrializado que transitava de um regime de ditadura militar para um regime democrático.”
  
  O projeto temático compreende duas grandes linhas de pesquisa: uma referente à ação das classes dominantes e outra referente à ação das classes trabalhadoras (incluindo aqui as cl asses médias). A compatibilidade entre o projeto temático e a proposta de pesquisa do candidato será um critério fundamental para a seleção do bolsista. 
  
  Espera-se, para preenchimento da vaga, que 1) o bolsista participe regularmente das reuniões do grupo de pesquisa a que estará vinculado (uma reunião a cada três semanas na Unicamp); 2) tenha habilidade para organizar tarefas de pesquisa com independência; 3) tenha disponibilidade para oferecer uma disciplina por ano junto ao Departamento de Ciência Política da Unicamp - disciplina essa relacionada ao seu objeto de pesquisa. 
  
  3. DOS REQUISITOS PARA O CANDIDATO À BOLSA
  O candidato aprovado e a ser beneficiado com a bolsa da FAPESP deverá atender aos seguintes requisitos: 
  a) Ter doutorado em Ciências Sociais (Sociologia ou Ciência Política), Economia ou em áreas afins; 
  b) Possuir currículo que demonstre capacitação para atuar no desenvolvimento do projeto; 
  c) Dedicar-se integralmente e exclusivamente às atividades do projeto; 
  d) Não manter víncu lo empregatício ou estatutário durante a vigência do projeto;
  e) Não ser aposentado; 
  f) Ter obtido o título de doutor há, no máximo, 7 (sete) anos; 
  g) Estar de posse do seu diploma de doutorado ou de ata de defesa;
  h) Estar apto a iniciar as atividades relativas ao projeto tão logo seja aprovada a sua candidatura pela FAPESP; 
  i) No caso de candidato estrangeiro, demonstrar as habilidades necessárias de comunicação em língua portuguesa. 
  
  4. DA DOCUMENTAÇÃO NECESSÁRIA À INSCRIÇÃO 
  No ato da inscrição por e-mail o candidato deverá apresentar: a) Projeto de pesquisa de, no máximo, 10 (dez) páginas, em espaçamento 1,5 mm e fonte 12 Times New Roman, em língua portuguesa, contendo: resumo, breve discussão bibliográfica, hipóteses e objetivos de pesquisa, metodologia, cronograma e bibliografia. b) Curriculum Vitae. Para candidatos brasileiros pede-se que o curriculum vitae seja o da plataforma lattes; c) Duas cartas de recomendação; d) Súmula curricular de 1 página em espaçamento 1,5 mm, fonte 12 Times New Roman. 
  
  5. DA SELEÇÃO 
  A seleção do bolsista será realizada em três etapas: a) Avaliação do projeto de pesquisa e do currículo vitae dos candidatos. Aprovados e não aprovados nesta etapa receberão uma resposta às suas candidaturas por e-mail; b) Processo de avaliação e classificação de projetos e currículos selecionados na etapa anterior por grupo de pareceristas internos e externos ao Projeto Temático; c) Os candidatos selecionados serão chamados para uma entrevista, em língua portuguesa, presidida pelo coordenador do projeto temático e que pode contar com a presença de outros(as) pesquisadores(as) participante(s) do projeto temático. A convocação será feita por e-mail e as entrevistas ocorrerão por skype entre os dias 30/06/2011 e 01/07/2011; o dia e o horário exatos serão comunicados por e-mail. 

  6. DO RESULTADO 
  O resultado será enviado por email à partir das 14 horas do di a 02/07/2011. 
  
  7. DA BOLSA 
  O candidato selecionado receberá financiamento pela FAPESP, sendo contemplado com uma bolsa de pós-doutorado (R$ 5.333,40), com duração até 24 meses, admitindo-se prorrogação, dependendo do desempenho, por mais 12 meses ou pelo tempo restante ao próprio projeto temático. 
  
  8. DO INÍCIO DAS ATIVIDADES 
  O candidato selecionado deverá estar apto a iniciar as atividades tão logo seja aprovada a sua candidatura pela FAPESP. 
  
  9. DAS DISPOSIÇÕES GERAIS 
  Casos omissos a este edital serão decididos pelo coordenador do projeto temático, resguardadas as regras estabelecidas pela Fapesp.

  1. OVERVIEW 
  Open call for one (01) postdoctoral research fellowship funded by The State of São Paulo Research Foundation (Fapesp). The researcher will develop an individual project related to the Thematic Project “Politics and social classes in neoliberal capitalism” (no 08/57112-7), which is headed up by Professor Armando Boito Júnior from the Department of Political Science at State University of Campinas (Unicamp), temporaly replaced by Prof. Leda Maria Paulani (Economics Faculty - University of São Paulo). 
  
  2. RESEARCH ACTIVITY 
  The researcher will develop a research proposal which is related to the general objective of the Thematic Project, namely: “The project aims to analyze the political and social conflicts that have resulted in the implementation of the neoliberal capitalist model in Brazil, the effects of neoliberal policy on different social sectors involved in this process and, lastly, the economic and political p osition that these social sectors stand within the new economic model and the power structure prevailed in this country. The general hypothesis of this research is that this process should be primarily seen as the result of the conflicts of classes, class fractions and social strata, which were immersed in conditions given by a dependent semi-industrialized country that was transitioning from a military dictatorship to a democratic regime.” The Thematic Project comprises of two main research lines: firstly, concerning the action of the dominant classes and, secondly, concerning the action of the working classes (including, in the latter, the middle classes). The compatibility between the Thematic Project and the candidate's proposed research will be a key criterion for selection of the fellow. It is also expected from the successful candidate to carry out the following activities: 1) regular participation in meetings with the research group whom he/she will be bound to (one meeting every three weeks at Unicamp), 2) ability to organize research tasks independently; 3) flexibility to offer a discipline for one year within the Department of Political Science at Unicamp this discipline should be related to the proposed research for the fellowship. 
  
  3. ELIGIBILITY 
  The successful candidate awarded by the FAPESP postdoctoral fellowship must fulfil the following eligibility criteria: a) Have a PhD in Social Sciences (Sociology or Political Science), Economics or related fields; b) Hold a curriculum which demonstrates his/her capabilities to work in the development of the Thematic Project. c) Full-time and exclusive dedication to the project’s activities; d) Do not hold any type of employment or being currently engaged in sabbatical period during the project development; e) Must not be retired; f) Must have completed a PhD within the last 7 (seven) years; g) Hold a doctoral certificate or equivalent evidence; h) Be able to initiate the activiti es related to the project as soon as his/her application is awarded with the fellowship by FAPESP; i) In case of foreign candidates, they must demonstrate very good communication skills in Portuguese language.
   
  4. APPLICATION PROCEDURE 
  Application must be sent by e-mail to prpmarcelino@gmail.com, between 01/05/2011 and 31/05/2011. All applications will be acknowledged within 48 hrs after the submission, via the same e-mail used by the applicant. 
  
  5. REQUIRED APPLICATION DOCUMENTS 
  All applications submitted via e-mail will need to provide the following set of documents. a) Research proposal in Portuguese language according to the following format: maximum 10 (ten) pages, line spacing 1.5 mm, font Times New Roman 12. In addition to this, the proposal must include: abstract, brief literature review, hypothesis (es), objectives, methodology, timetable (e.g. figure or list that includes all activities for the proposed research) and bibliography. b) Curriculum Vitae (Brazilian candi dates should submit their curriculum at Latte database); c) Two letters of recommendation. d) Abbreviated curriculum vitae in the following format: 1 (one) page, line spacing 1.5.mm, line spacing, font Times New Roman 12. Local candidates shall provide curriculum vitae under lattes platform.

  6. SELECTION PROCEDURE 
  The selection for the appropriate candidate for the fellowship will be held in three stages: a) Evaluation of the research proposal and curriculum vitae. At this stage, the approved and non-approved candidates will receive via e-mail a response to their application; b) Classification process of the selected proposals and curricula by both internal and external group of reviewers. c) The selected applicants will be called for an interview, in Portuguese language, chaired by the coordinator (PI) of the Thematic Project and probably assisted by other research (ers) who currently participate in the Thematic Project. The call for interview will be made by e-mail and the interviews will take place on line via Skype between 30.06.2011 and 01.07.2011; day and time of interview will be notified by e-mail. 
  
  7. PUBLICATION OF RESULTS 
  The result will be sent via e-mail from 14:00h on 02.07.2011. 
  
  8. FUNDING NOTE AND DURATION
  The selected applicant will be funded by Fapesp and awarded a postdoctoral fellowship (R$ 5.333,40) which last up to 24 months. However, according to the candidate’s performance, there is the possibility of an extension for 12 months more, or for the remaining time of the Thematic Project. 
  
  9. START OF THE ACTIVITIES 
  The selected applicant should be able to initiate the activities related to the project as soon as his/her application has been awarded by the Fapesp fellowship. 
  
  10. GENERAL ANNOUCEMENT 
  Omission from this call shall be analysed and judged by the coordinator (PI) of the Thematic Project, according to criteria and rules established by Fapesp.
