Resumo
Summary
Bolsa de pós-doutorado disponível no grupo de pesquisa do Prof. Raghuvir Arni no Centro Multiusuário de Inovação Biomolecular, Departamento de Física, Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) – campus São José do Rio Preto, para participar do Projeto Temático “Exosítios de proteínas, sítios crípticos e moonlighting: identificação, mapeamento funcional e efeitos de alteração estrutural”.
O bolsista irá:
1) Desenvolver, treinar e avaliar a precisão de um modelo de classificação para identificar exosítios de proteínas com base nas suas estruturas tridimensionais;
2) Desenvolver um pipeline para identificar possíveis proteínas de interação;
3) Identificar os parceiros proteína-proteína que interagem por meio da ligação em loci de exosítios;
Postdoc fellowship available in the research group of Prof. Raghuvir Arni at the Multiuser Center for Biomolecular Innovation, Physics Department, São Paulo State University (UNESP) in São José do Rio Preto (Brazil) to participate in the Thematic Project “Protein exosites, cryptic sites and moonlighting: Identification, functional mapping and effects of structural alteration”.
The fellow will 1) develop, train and evaluate the accuracy of a classification model to identify protein exosites based on their three-dimensional structures; 2) develop a pipeline to identify possible interacting proteins; 3) identify protein-protein partners that interact through binding at exosite loci; 4) perform virtual screening of compounds from the ZINC database in the identified exosites of the target proteins to propose possible drug candidates.
Requirements: PhD in Biophysics, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science with emphasis on Computational Structural Biology. Desirable skills: Experience in LINUX, some programming language (Python, R, Scilab, etc.), and MySQL; knowledge in multivariate statistical analysis and SHAP, neural networks / machine learning, and virtual screening.
Write to Prof. Arni (raghuvir.arni@unesp.br) sending your CV, a cover letter and, if possible, include your thesis and a copy of relevant publications.
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 8,479.20 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
