Deisy das Graças de Souza

Deisy de Souza is Full Professor at the Psychology Department, Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), Brazil, where she teaches psychology and behavior analysis in graduate and undergraduate courses in Psychology, and in Special Education.

She obtained a master and a doctoral degree in Science (Experimental Psychology) from the University of São Paulo (USP) and was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, United States (1985-1986), and at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center for Mental Retardation, United States (1999).

She is the Coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology on Behavior, Cognition and Teaching (INCT-ECCE), supported by FAPESP and CNPq, which focuses on Relational Learning and Symbolic Behavior.

She is past-Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Behavior Analysis (BJBA), past-Associate Editor of Acta Comportamentalia, and she is a member of the Board of Editors of the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior.

She was President of the Brazilian Association of Psychology, and member of the Council of the Brazilian Association of Psychology and Behavioral Medicine.

She received the 2015 Distinguished Contributions to the Experimental Analysis of Human Behavior Award from the Experimental Analysis of Human Behavior Special Interest Group. She is currently Fellow and the International representative on the Executive Council of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
