  A Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da USP (FMRP-USP) oferece duas vagas de pós-doutorado sob supervisão do Prof. Dr. José Carlos Alves Filho. A FMRP-USP é uma das instituições do Centro de Pesquisa em Imuno-Oncologia (CRIO), apoiado pela FAPESP, por meio do programa Centros de Pesquisa em Engenharia (CPE), em conjunto com a Glaxo-Smith Kline (GSK).

  Os bolsistas trabalharão em projetos que visam identificar novos alvos imunorreguladores para promover resposta antitumoral. Os projetos envolvem a investigação das alterações no metabolismo celular e como o microambiente tumoral impõe barreiras metabólicas à atividade antitumoral de linfócitos e macrófagos. Também, o papel das NETs como mecanismo de proteção dos tumores contra a resposta imune dos pacientes, bem como o efeito do complexo SWI/SNF na regulação gênica para subverter a ativação de células imunes no câncer.

  Buscamos candidatos altamente motivados e capazes de trabalhar de forma independente e em equipe. É necessária experiência prévia em biologia molecular e em modelos experimentais de câncer. Candidatos com experiência em cruzamento de animais geneticamente modificados (sistema Cre-Lox) terão prioridade.

  A vaga está aberta a brasileiros e estrangeiros. O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doutorado da FAPESP no valor de R$ 8.479,20 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 10% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  The Ribeirão Preto Medical School at the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) offers two post-doctoral positions under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jose Carlos Alves Filho. The FMRP-USP is linked to the Center for Research in Immuno-Oncology (CRIO) supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) through its program for Engineering Research Centers (ERCs), in partnership with Glaxo-Smith Kline (GSK).

  The selected candidates will work on projects aiming to identify new immunoregulatory targets to promote antitumor response. The selected candidate will investigate changes in cellular metabolism and how the tumor microenvironment imposes metabolic barriers to the antitumor activity of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and macrophages. Also, the role of NETs as a protective mechanism of tumors against the immune response of patients, as well as to investigate the role of the SWI/SNF complex on gene regulation to burst immune cell activation in cancer.

  We are looking for highly motivated candidates capable of working independently. Previous experience in molecular biology and in in vivo cancer models is mandatory. Candidates with experience generation of genetically modified animals (Cre-Lox system) will be given priority for this position.

The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 8,479.20 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
