• Resumo Summary

  O Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas (IAG-USP) tem uma bolsa de Pós-Doutorado FAPESP disponível para candidatos com experiência em desenvolvimento de sistemas ópticos e optomecânicos aplicados à instrumentação astronômica.

  A Bolsa integra o Projeto Temático FAPESP "Explorando o universo: da formação de galáxias aos planetas tipo-Terra, com o Telescópio Gigante Magalhães" e, em particular, contribui para o planejamento e execução do escopo óptico e optomecânica do sistema robótico de fibras do GMT,  chamado MANIFEST (Many-Instrument Fiber System), incluindo subsistemas de filtros espectrais do G-CLEF (GMT-Consortium Large Earth Finder).

  Estão convidados a se inscrever engenheiros e pesquisadores buscando por estágios de pós-doutorado no campo instrumentação astronômica. Buscamos candidatos excelentes que saibam conduzir pesquisa científica de forma independente e também tenham o desejo de trabalhar colaborativamente com estudantes e outros pesquisadores. Pesquisadores com título de doutorado em Física, Engenharia, Astronomia e áreas correlatas são potenciais candidatos.

  O selecionado receberá Bolsa de Pós-Doc da FAPESP por um período de 2 anos no valor de R$ 7.373,10 mensais e Reserva Técnica equivalente a 10% do valor anual da bolsa para atender a despesas imprevistas e diretamente relacionadas à atividade de pesquisa.

  The Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences of the University of São Paulo (IAG-USP) in Brazil has one Post-Doctoral position available to candidates with experience in developing optical and optomechanical systems applied to astronomical instrumentation. The selected candidate will be awarded a fellowship by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).

  The scholarship is part of the FAPESP Thematic Project “Exploring the universe: from the formation of galaxies to Earth-like planets, with the Giant Magellan Telescope”, in the planning and execution of the optical and optomechanical scope of the GMT´s robotic system of fibers known as MANIFEST (Many-Instrument Fiber System), including G-CLEF’s (GMT- Consortium Large Earth Finder) spectral filter subsystem.

  Engineers and researchers seeking post-doctoral internships in the field of astronomical instrumentation are invited to apply. We are looking for excellent candidates who know how to conduct scientific research independently and desire to work collaboratively with students and other researchers. Researchers with a doctoral degree in Physics, Engineering, Astronomy, and related areas are potential candidates.

  The selected candidate will receive a Postdoc Scholarship from FAPESP for two years in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 per month and a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the scholarship to cover unforeseen expenses related to the research activity.
