First Amendment to the agreement between FAPESP and StMBW Versão em português

AGREEMENT FOR SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL COOPERATION WITH INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS BETWEEN THE SÃO PAULO RESEARCH FOUNDATION (FAPESP) AND THE STATE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND THE ARTS OF THE FREE STATE OF BAVARIA (STMBW)

The São Paulo Research Foundation, a juridical person of public law, established under the authorization of State Law number 5.918 of 18 October, 1960, with Statutes approved by State Decree number 40.132 of May 23th, 1962, registered at the National Tax Payer Roll under number 43.828.151/0001-45, with head office at Rua Pio XI, 1500, Alto da Lapa, São Paulo, SP, hereinafter designated as FAPESP and hereby represented by its President, Professor José Goldemberg, Ph.D., holder of identity card number 1.614.363-2 SSP-SP and registered at the National Tax Payer Roll under number 065.477.538-91, with special address as stated above for FAPESP,

and

The State Ministry of Education, Science and the Arts of the Free State of Bavaria, Salvatorplatz 2, 80333 München, hereinafter designated as StMBW, represented by State Minister Dr. Ludwig Spaenle,

henceforth called the Parties,

Recognizing the importance to continuing fostering the scientific co-operation between the State of São Paulo, Brazil and the Free State of Bavaria, Germany,

Considering the provisions in ninth clause of the original agreement, which allows its renewal for a further period of five (5) years, formalized by a new document,

Whereas, the Parties desire to extend the term of the Agreement started on 11th April 2012,

Agree to:

Clause 1 - Change the ninth clause, which shall read as follows:

This Agreement shall be effective for 5 (five) more years, from April 11th, 2017 and may be renewed for another period of time, formalized by a new document.

Clause 2 - Except as expressly provided for this First Amendment, the remaining provisions of the Agreement remain in full force and effect.

The Parties are in agreement and have signed this First Amendment in four originals copies, two in Portuguese and two in English, all texts being equally authentic and of equal effect.
