Area Panel - Engineering

Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the São Carlos School of Engineering of the University of São Paulo (EESC-USP).

He received his Bachelor (1995), Master (1998) and Doctoral (2002) Degrees in Mechanichal Engineering from the University of São Paulo. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2002-2003), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (2003-2006) and Universidad da Coruña (2008-2009).

Most of his research are directed on the area  of transport phenomena with major research interests in two-phase flow and phase change heat transfer.

He was Secretary-Director, from 2016 to 2017, and, currently, is the President of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering (2018-2019). He is also Coordinator of Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering EESC-USP, from 2015 to 2019. He is Editor of the Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science and member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Multiphase Flow and the International Journal of Microscale and Nanoscale Thermal and Fluid Transport.

He is member of the Assembly of World Conferences on Experimental Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics, International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer (ICHMT), representative delegate of Brazil in the Assembly of International Heat Transfer Conference (AIHTC) and corresponding member of the ICeM NEWSLETTER/The Japanese Society for Multiphase Flow.
