Flávio Keidi Miyazawa Versão em português

Received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS, 1990) and a M.Sc. (1993) and D.Sc. (1997) in Applied Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (USP). In 1998, he joined the faculty of the Institute of Computing of the University of Campinas (IC-UNICAMP). Since 2012, he has been a Professor at IC-UNICAMP, where he was also coordinator of graduate studies (2005-2007) and associate director (2013-2014).
He served at the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) as coordinator of the Special Group on Combinatorial Optimization (2017-2019) and as coordinator (2019-2021) and Steering Committee member (2021-2023) of the Special Committee on Algorithms, Combinatorics and Optimization.
He acted as a member of the steering committee of the Latin American Theoretical Informatics Symposium (since 2020), as an editor-in-chief of the journal SBC Reviews on Computer Science, and as a member of the editorial board of the journals Pesquisa Operacional (2018-2021) and Connection Science (since 2021).
He has been a research productivity fellow of the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) since 1998. His doctoral thesis won first place in the SBC Thesis Competition (1998). He received an academic excellence award from the Institute of Computing (2008) and the Zeferino Vaz (2013) at the University of Campinas.
His research interests focuses on the Theoretical Computer Science area, with emphasis on Analysis of Algorithms and Combinatorial Optimization. He has investigated several Combinatorial Optimization problems, with applications in Computing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, etc.
