Graduated in Physiotherapy from the State University of Londrina (UEL), in 1991. Specialized in Respiratory Physiotherapy (1994) and Exercise Physiology (1995) at Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp), in Public Management at Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), in 2011, and in Hospital Management at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (HIAE), in 2019.

Completed a Master's degree in Physiotherapy at the UFSCar (2002) and a Master's degree in Food and Nutrition at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (Unesp), in 2003. Completed a Doctorate in the Graduate Program in Physiotherapy at UFSCar (2004).

Conducted Postdoctoral research in the Pulmonary Function and Clinical Exercise Physiology Sector (Sefice) at UNIFESP-EPM and, more recently, in the Cardiology Sector at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, affiliated with Stanford University in Palo Alto, USA.

Was President of the Associação Brasileira de Fisioterapia Respiratória, Cardiovascular e em Terapia Intensiva (Assobrafir) Regional SP (2010-2012 term) and alternate member for the 2012-2014 term. Served on the Institutional Committee for PIBIC and PIBITI-CNPq scholarships (2004-2010). Was Area Editor for the Brazilian Journal of Physical Therapy (2012-2016) and is a reviewer for various national and international journals.

Served as Vice Coordinator (2005-2007 and 2012-2013) and Coordinator of the Undergraduate Physiotherapy Course at UFSCar (2007-2009). Was Deputy Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Physiotherapy (PPG-Ft) (2012-2014) and coordinated the PPG-Ft during the 2014-2016 term.
Was Vice Provost for Graduate Studies at UFSCar (2016 to 2021). She is a Full Professor at the UFSCar and a research productivity fellow at level 1B-CNPq. She is the coordinator of the Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy Laboratory at the UFSCar.

She has experience in the field of Physiotherapy, with an emphasis on Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology, focusing primarily on topics related to Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and the acute and chronic effects of physical exercise as well as adjunct resources for rehabilitation to improve exercise-limiting symptoms and the physical-functional performance of patients with chronic cardiopulmonary diseases.
