FAPESP announces the SPRINT - Sao Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration The objective is to promote the engagement of researchers from institutions the State of São Paulo in partnership with researchers abroad

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) announces the SPRINT - São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration (www.fapesp.br/en/sprint), a strategy designed to encourage and promote the advancement of scientific research through the engagement of researchers affiliated with research institutions in the State of São Paulo with researcher partners abroad.

The first call for proposals under the Sao Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration is also announced. The objective of the call is to promote the engagement of researchers affiliated to institutions of higher education and research in the State of São Paulo in partnership with researchers abroad in order to: further develop qualitatively the ongoing research projects; and work cooperatively aiming the elaboration of joint research projects of medium and long term.

The call for proposals considers the following partnership alternatives: 1) Proposals in partnership with researcher whose institution has a current Agreement with FAPESP; 2) proposals in partnership with researcher whose institution has not a current Agreement FAPESP.

In the first call the partners that participate are: University of North Carolina Charlotte, USA; BAYLAT/STMWFK, Germany; University of Sydney, Australia; Heriot-Watt University, UK.

The closing date for submission of proposals is July 28, 2014.

FAPESP will provide the selected proposals with funds for travel (air tickets), health insurance and living allowances for researchers from the State of São Paulo that will visit the partner institution.
