FAPESP announce call for proposals with AstraZeneca and MedImmune Research for the development of novel therapeutics in metabolic diseases and cardiovascular diseases will be financed with a total of up to US$ 2.4 million

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) announce a call for research proposals with AstraZeneca/MedImmune. The call is open to interested researchers working within public or private higher education or research institutions in the State of São Paulo.

The research should help build scientific and technological competencies, strategic alliances to promote the scientific and technological development, promote the dissemination of knowledge and provide results that have potential for applications with a corporate or commercial benefit, whether direct or indirect, in areas of interest to AZ Brasil, MedImmune and FAPESP.

The themes of interest for the call have a strong emphasis on technology and approaches that push the boundaries of science and applied research that has translational value for the development of novel therapeutics in Metabolic Diseases and Cardiovascular Diseases.

The proposals must meet the conditions and restrictions of the FAPESP Program for Cooperative Research for Technological Innovation (PITE).

The total amount available for this call for proposals is up to US$ 2.400.000,00. The institutions expect to jointly fund approximately 4-6 proposals.

The duration of selected projects will be of up to 36 months. The proposals will be received until June 26th, 2015.
