Young Investigators Awards

Young Researchers Awards - Aim

This program aims to create work opportunities for a young investigator or groups of young investigators with great potential preferably in emerging research centers. The goal is to spawn new groups and thus decentralize the research system in the state.

The funds will be granted in fashion that will promptly assure the basic conditions for a full and independent development of the project. New support in complementary requests is assured to the research groups through agile review process of grants applications and support for bringing a visiting researcher and so on. Investment will be carried in the research infrastructure of these research centers and thus make the development of the approved projects a reality.

The program will back research projects that will be chosen competitively. The applications will be evaluated comparatively taking in consideration prior achievements of the researcher, especially in terms of publications and accomplishments that attest the investigator has carried out quality research in relevant topics in his or her field. The presentation of a sound, quality research project, and with considerations that prove it may be carried in the terms put forward by the research will also be important for this evaluation.

As a counterpart, FAPESP will require the institution that will develop the project to commit itself to the goals of the program by providing adequate facilities and infrastructure. The institution will also have to provide working time to the research, support personnel and the freedom to take on students for the project. In the review process, FAPESP will take into consideration the human resources policy of the institution in those issues that are relevant to the goal of the programs.
