FAPESP and BAYLAT launch a joint call to fund workshop organization Versão em português

Proposals will be accepted in any discipline/multidisciplinary area. One of the workshops will take place in the State of São Paulo and the other in the Free State of Bavaria.

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Bavarian Academic Center for Latin America (BAYLAT) announce a new call for proposals for the funding of workshops.

The call for proposals is designed to provide financial support to bring together a cohort of early-stage researchers and PhD students who are about to defend their theses, from the Free State of Bavaria and São Paulo State, to take part in two workshops (per proposal) focusing on building links for future collaboration and enhancing the researchers’ career opportunities.

Workshops will be coordinated by two leading researchers, one each from a higher education or research institution in the Free State of Bavaria and from a higher education or research institution in the State of São Paulo.

Proposals will be accepted in any discipline/multidisciplinary area. One of the workshops will take place in the State of São Paulo and the other in the Free State of Bavaria.

Deadline for submissions is the 20th of November 2023, via SAGe System (https://fapesp.br/sage), which requires the Bavarian coordinator to be registered as principal investigator from partner institution.

The first workshop must take place between 1 June 2024 and 31 May 2025. The second workshop must take place between 1 June 2025 and 31 May 2026.

The recruitment of participants will be open and disseminated through various channels, and will promote accessibility, diversity and gender parity, also for coordinators and mentors.

Proponents from the State of São Paulo must be or have been Principal or Co-Principal Investigators of research projects funded by FAPESP within at least one of the following FAPESP funding lines: Thematic Projects, Young Investigator Grant (YIG), Engineering/Applied Research Centers (ERC/ARC), Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (RIDC), and Research Partnership for Technological Innovation Program (PITE).
