Holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacy (1990) and a PhD (1996) in Biological Sciences - Pharmacology, from the University of São Paulo (USP). Was a visiting fellow at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine - NY, University of Montreal - Clinical Research Institute of Montreal and at Georgia Health Sciences University (Medical College of Georgia).
Currently is Professor of Pharmacology at the Ribeirao Preto Medical School (FMRP- USP) and a researcher at Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq).
Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms controlling vascular function and its alterations in arterial hypertension, diabetes and obesity.
Has a strong background in cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology, and contributions on the role of O-GlcNAc modification, sex hormones and cytokines in vascular function.
