Dario Zamboni received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Brasilia (1994-1997) and PhD in Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology from Federal University of São Paulo (1998-2003, supported by a FAPESP fellowship). He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Microbial Pathogenesis at Yale University, USA (2003-2006, Fellow from PEW Programs in Biomedical Sciences).

Currently, he is Associate Professor (Livre-Docente) of Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo - FMRP/USP.

He works in the areas of Cell Biology, Microbiology and Immunology, with emphasis on Pathogen-Host Cell Interactions and aspects of Microbial Pathogenesis and Innate Immunity. His scientific production includes high quality articles, which have earned him distinction as one of the 40 under 40 indicated by the Cell Journal. He was Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (2011-2016) and is Affiliate Member of The Developing World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He acts as Editor of the Frontiers in Microbiology, Frontiers in Immunology, Plos One and Plos Pathogens. Since 2014 he is the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology of the FMRP/USP.
