Joaquim de Araújo Nobrega

Received his B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Federal University of São Carlos (1986), M.Sc Degree from the Institute of Chemistry, University of São Paulo (1989), and Ph.D. Degree from the Institute of Chemistry, State University of Campinas (1992). Afterwards, he completed his postdoctoral training at the Department of Chemistry, University of Massachusetts (Amherst, MA, 1996) and at the Department of Chemistry, Wake Forest University (Winston-Salem, NC, 2003).

He is Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Federal University of São Carlos (São Carlos, São Paulo State, Brazil) and Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Concepción (Concepción, Chile). His research interests are sample preparation for inorganic analysis and the development of spectrochemical methods for trace analysis.

He is member of the editorial boards of Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, Brazilian Journal of Analytical Chemistry, ICP Information Newsletter, Microchemical Journal, and Talanta. He is member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, São Paulo State Academy of Sciences, and Fellow Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. As a member of the Brazilian Society of Chemistry, he acted as Associate Editor and Editor of the Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society from 2005 to 2015. He has acted in several committees of federal agencies (CAPES and CNPq) since 2008.
