The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) announces a new opportunity to stimulate scientific collaboration between researchers from the State of São Paulo and the United Kingdom.

The terms are described in a call for proposals issued with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Brazilian National Council of State Funding Agencies (CONFAP) and the State Funding Agencies (FAPs), in Brazil, and the Newton Fund, the Academy of Medical Sciences, the British Academy and the Royal Society, in the United Kingdom.

The Newton Fund is an initiative of the British government that aims to promote the social and economic development of partner countries through research, science and technology. The funding in the call will have the counterpart of the partners in those countries, and FAPESP is one of the partners of Newton Fund in Brazil.

FAPESP will select proposals from researchers from higher education and research institutions in the State of São Paulo that want to bring researchers from the United Kingdom in two modalities: Visiting Researcher and Young Investigator Award.

Proposals in the State of São Paulo must be submitted to FAPESP before March 25, 2019, through the SAGe system.
