1st Addendum to the Cooperation Agreement for Research between the São Paulo Research Foundation and the Durham University Versão em português

The São Paulo Research Foundation - FAPESP , established by Law nº 5.918, of October 18th, 1960, with headquarters at Rua Pio XI, 1500, Alto da Lapa, São Paulo, SP, enrolled in CNPJ/MF under nº 43.828.151/0001-45, herein represented according to article 11, “a” of Law nº 5.918, combined with its General Rule approved by Decree n° 40.132, of May 23, 1962, represented by its President, Prof Dr Marco Antonio Zago, in the exercise of the powers delegated by Act of the Governor of the State of São Paulo, published in the Official Gazette of the State, of September 29, 2018, and The Durham University, whose registered office is at The Palatine Centre, Stockton Road, Durham, DH1 3LE England, UK a Higher Education Institution established under Royal Charter, hereinafter referred to as "Parties”:

CONSIDERING the importance of continuing to promote cooperation in scientific and technological research between UK and the State of São Paulo, Brazil;

CONSIDERING the need to continuing strengthening the links between the scientific communities of both countries and to encourage new forms of collaboration between its research centres;

Agree as follow:

1. Section One

By this Addendum the Parties agree to amend Clause 7 and extend the Term of the Cooperation Agreement. The Parties undertake to implement scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from the Durham University and the State of São Paulo, Brazil, celebrated on July 17, 2014 until July 17, 2024.

The Parties agree to amend Clause 8 to replace the address for notices served on Durham University as follows:

2. Section Two

The other cooperation agreement clauses not changed by this Addendum are maintained. And declared their intentions, once the present instrument is signed, the Parties celebrate the Agreement, with effective date indicated here, in two original copies in English and in Portuguese, producing both texts equal effects, in accordance with the respective national legislation.
