Eduardo is Professor of Engineering in the Polytechnic School at the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP).

He is a Mechanical Engineer (1997), and earned his M.Sc. (2000) and Ph.D. (2009) in Industrial Engineering at the University of São Paulo.

He was research assistant at the Werkzeugmaschinenlabor (WZL), RWTH Aachen University (2005-2007). He was Visiting Scholar at the Graduate School of Education, Stanford University (2015). He was Visiting Professor at Trinity College Dublin (July, 2016).

Before joining Poli-USP, Eduardo worked in management consulting for more than eight years. He was project manager at Bain & Company until 2012.

At Poli-USP, Eduardo created, implemented, and currently coordinates teaching and research laboratories to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, namely InovaLab@Poli, Ocean USP-Samsung, and Fábrica do Futuro. In these initiatives, Eduardo has extensively established R&D cooperation agreements with the industry.

Eduardo has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and co-authored 5 filed patents.

His main research interests include Design Processes, Advanced Manufacturing, and Engineering Education, focusing on Design Education.

His native language is Brazilian Portuguese, and he speaks English and German.
