PhD in Physics from the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (USP) (2003), with a postdoc at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) (2003-2005) and at the University of Texas at Austin (2005-2006) in the United States.
He is a professor at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), where he served as Vice-Rector (2010-2014) and Pro-Rector of Graduate Studies (2014-2016). He was a visiting professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder (2017-2018).
He has experience in the field of Condensed Matter Physics, focusing his research on an interface between Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science, particularly in semiconductor materials, nanostructures, materials informatics, and materials for energy.
He coordinates a project funded by Agência Nacional de Petróleo, is an Associate Editor of the Discover Materials journal (Springer-Nature) and is an affiliated member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (2017-2022).
