He is an associate professor at the School of Sciences and Languages (São Paulo State University-UNESP, campus of Assis), a PQ2 scholarship holder from CNPq and has a degree (1988), a master's degree (2001) and a doctorate (2005) in veterinary medicine from FMVZ, Botucatu (UNESP).
He took short courses at The Centre for Phenogenomics (TCP, Toronto, Canada) and at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC, Berlin, Germany). He coordinated the binational thematic project GIFT (Brazil - Denmark) together with researchers from Brazilian universities (UNESP and USP) and Danish universities (University of Copenhagen and Aarhus University).
Ad hoc advisor (regular or sporadic) for the journals "Reproductive Biology & Endocrinology", "PLOS One", "Reproduction, Fertility & Development", "Livestock Science", "Animal Reproduction", "Scientific Reports" and "Nature Machine Intelligence” among others, as well as regular scientific advisor for abstracts published in the annals of SBTE's annual meetings and for the analysis of processes for FAPESP.
Recently, he contributed to the ad hoc analysis of a research project submitted for funding at the National Science Centre (NCN, Poland). He has been an academic editor of PLOS One since January 2019.
He participates, as professor and advisor, in the Graduate Programs in Pharmacology and Biotechnology (Institute of Biosciences, UNESP, Botucatu) and in Biosciences - Interunities (FCL, UNESP, Assis).
He participated as communication coordinator for the Brazilian Society of Embryo Technology (SBTE) in the 2008/09, 2010/11 and 2014/15 administrations. He has experience in the field of veterinary medicine, with an emphasis on embryo biotechnology, acting mainly on the following themes: superovulation, LH receptor, embryonic chimerism, in vitro embryo production and embryonic morphological evaluation using artificial intelligence.
