Gustavo Silva Wiederhecker

Holds an Associate Professor position at the University of Campinas, Brazil, where he also earned his bachelor (2004), Ph.D. (2008) and “Livre Docente” degrees in physics.

In 2010 he received the “Grande Prêmio de Tese” José Leite Lopes from CAPES for this doctorate research.

He was a postdoctoral research fellow at Cornell University, United States, from 2008 to 2011. His research aims to harness nonlinear optical phenomena within microphotonic devices, with emphasis on the interaction between light and mechanical waves.

He has been elected an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences for the 2019–2024 term and holds a PQ (level 2) fellowship from CNPq.

Since 2020 he serves as a topical editor at the “Journal of the Optical Society of America B”.
