She had a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the Regional University of the Northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Unijuí) (2000), a Master’s (2001), and a Doctoral’s (2006) degree in Physics from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) (2006). She did a postdoctoral internship at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) (2006-2008) and at Southern Astrophysical Research (SOAR) (2008-2009), where he also acted as a resident astronomer.

She has been a professor and researcher at the University of Vale do Paraíba (Univap) since 2009, where she acted as coordinator of the basic core of engineering courses (2013-2015) and as president of the Permanent Commission for Univap Selection Processes (2014-2020).

She was a member of the National Program Committee of the Gemini Observatory (2018-2021), the Pico dos Dias Observatory (2016-2018), and the SOAR telescope (2013-2016) of the National Astrophysics Laboratory (LNA). She is currently a member of the advisory board of the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) with support from FAPESP. She holds a CNPq level 2 research productivity grant.

She has experience in the area of Astronomy, with emphasis on Extragalactic and Interstellar Medium Astrophysics, working mainly on the following topics: interacting galaxies, physical and kinematic properties of ionized gas, stellar populations, and active nuclei of galaxies.
