Collaborations between São Paulo and the UK in environmental sciences will be funded Versão em português
Projects were selected in a call for proposals with the Natural Environment Research Council
FAPESP and the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) announce the result of a call for proposals launched in January 2022 to finance bilateral collaborations. Five proposals were selected.
NERC is the environmental science research arm of UK Research and Innovation, the UK government's science and innovation funding agency. Its areas of expertise, which include terrestrial sciences, marine sciences, freshwater biology, archaeology, polar and atmospheric sciences and Earth observation, informed the themes that guided the elaboration of the proposals.
The 2022 edition of the so-called Global Partnerships Seedcorn Fund is the fifth promoted in the history of the partnership between FAPESP and NERC. Through short-term collaboration mechanisms, which includes mobility and exchange activities and exploratory studies, the call supports new partnerships between research groups in São Paulo and the United Kingdom in order to support the future establishment of long-term, self-sustaining and high-impact collaborations.
