The goal is to fund collaboration between researchers with FAPESP grants and partners from institutions in other countries.

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) announces the first call for proposals in 2023 under the SPRINT – São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration initiative.

This call for proposals intends to foster the engagement of researchers with current FAPESP research grants with researchers abroad, advancing ongoing research projects and developing joint, medium- and long-duration research projects.

The call for proposals details the conditions for proposal submissions in partnership with the following institutions of research and higher learning:

• Technische Universität Berlin, Germany
• Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, Spain
• University of Surrey, United Kingdom

In addition, FAPESP may also receive proposals from researchers whose partners are from any institution, including institutions with which FAPESP does not have a current agreement, provided that evidence of availability of matching funds to be used by the partner researcher is submitted in the application.

Researchers eligible to submit proposals to this call include Principal Investigators of ongoing research projects funded by FAPESP within the following FAPESP funding modalities: Regular Research Awards (excluding mobility projects), Initial Projects (Pi), Thematic Projects, Young Investigators, Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (CEPIDs), Engineering Research Centers/Applied Research Centers (CPEs/CPAs), Public Education Research Program, Research in Public Policies, and Research Partnership for Technological Innovation (PITE). In addition, Co-Principal Investigators of ongoing Thematic Projects, CEPIDs, CPEs, CPAs and PITEs may also apply.

Submissions to FAPESP must be filed exclusively through the SAGe system.

The deadline for submission is June 26, 2023.
