Wagner Pralon Mancuso

Associate professor of political science at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University of São Paulo (EACH-USP). President of the "Research and Innovation Committee" at EACH-USP from February 2024 to February 2026.

He is accredited both as professor and advisor in the graduate programs of political science at the Faculty of Philosophy, Language and Literature, and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FFLCH-USP), and international relations at the Institute of International Relations of the University of São Paulo (IRI-USP).

He is a CNPq research productivity fellow. Selected by the Deliberative Council of the Institute for Advanced Studies of the University of São Paulo (IEA-USP) for the Sabbatical Year program (2020). Member of the board of the Brazilian Political Science Association (ABCP) (research director), elected for the 2016-2018 biennium.

He has a degree in philosophy from Centro Universitário Assunção (Unifai)(1993), a degree in social sciences from USP (1996), a master's degree in political science from USP (2000) and a PhD in political science from USP (2004).

He published the books "O lobby da indústria no Congresso Nacional" (EDUSP/Humanitas/FAPESP), "Lobby e políticas públicas" (FGV Editora, co-authored with Andréa Gozetto), as well as dozens of articles and book chapters in Brazil and abroad. His publications focus mainly on the following themes: interest groups, pressure groups, lobbying, corporate political action, electoral financing, the money-politics relationship, judicialization of the electoral process and analysis of the decision-making process.

He has coordinated the Brazilian side of several international research projects, in partnerships between FAPESP-DFG (Germany), CAPES-MINCyT (Argentina) and USP-University of Toronto (Canada). He has carried out other research projects with funding from FAPESP, CNPq and IPEA.
