João Francisco Justo Filho

He is B.Sc. (1988) and M.Sc. (1991) in Physics by the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo, and Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering (1997) by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was Post-Doctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1997) and the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (1998-2001). He was Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota (2007-2008).

He is a faculty in the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo since 2001, as Assistant Professor (2001-2006), Associate Professor (2007-2017), and Full Professor (since 2017).

He is researcher of the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) since 2002. He was an elected member at the Institutional Evaluation Board of the University of São Paulo (2018-2022). He is an associate editor of the journal Polytechnica, edited by Springer Nature.

He was elected in 1996 as a full member of the Alpha Nu Sigma Honor Society of the American Nuclear Society and in 1998 as a full member of the da Sigma Xi - The Scientific Research Honor Society.
