General Coordinator – Technologies and Innovation Partnerships
He is a Full Professor at Institute of Computing at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (1998), a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Campinas (2002), and sabatical at University of Washington, USA (2010).
He holds a CNPq Research Fellowship. His research focuses on Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Hardware Design, and the Use of Technology in Education. He served as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Computer Science at the Institute of Computing from 2007 to 2009, member of the University Council at Unicamp between 2013-2017 and 2023-2025, and as Deputy Coordinator for the Professional Master's Program in Computer Science at CAPES from 2011 to 2013.
He has received Best Paper Awards at six conferences in his field. Additionally, he was awarded the Teaching Recognition Award for Dedication to Undergraduate Education and the Zeferino Vaz Academic Recognition Award in 2012. From 2017 to 2019, he was the Director of the Institute of Computing at Unicamp, and from 2015 to 2019, he served on the Board of the Brazilian Computing Society. He was President of the Virtual University of the State of São Paulo (UNIVESP) from 2019 to 2023.
Currently, he is the Regional Secretary of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC) (2023-2025) and member of the Scientific Technical Council of the Eldorado Research Institute (2021-present).
