Initiative will support mobility proposals for collaboration in dental research

FAPESP and the University of Saskatchewan (USask), Canada, announce the launch of a call for research mobility support (seedcorn fund) aimed at fostering proposals for scientific collaboration.

The call will support proposals jointly developed by researchers affiliated with higher education and research institutions in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, and researchers from the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan. Collaborations will be selected in the fields of craniofacial, oral, and dental research.

FAPESP and USask will fund research teams led by a principal investigator based in their respective territories, with a maximum contribution of BRL 158,000 per project for a period of up to two years. At FAPESP, funding will follow the rules and conditions of the Regular Research Grant modality.

Bilateral consortia applying for support must demonstrate the scientific quality, feasibility, and degree of innovation of the research plan, as well as the competence and experience of the researchers involved, the added value of the Brazil-Canada collaboration, and the project’s potential to generate scientific impact, new collaborations, and joint results.

Proposals must include at least one visit by each partner to the other country.

In addition to being signed by a principal investigator from São Paulo and a researcher from the USask College of Dentistry, proposals must include an associated researcher affiliated with another College or School at USask.

Submissions must be made through the SAGe system by May 19. The principal investigator and the associated researcher from USask must be registered in SAGe and confirm their participation in the proposal.

The call for proposals is available at: fapesp.br/18056.
