Opportunity with JSPS will support collaborative projects conducted in partnership between researchers from São Paulo and Japan in Human, Social, and Natural Sciences.
FAPESP, in conjunction with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), launches a call for proposals to support scientific collaborations between researchers from the state of São Paulo and Japan. Up to three projects in all fields of Human, Social, and Natural Sciences will be selected.
This is the seventh call for proposals in the history of the scientific cooperation kept between both agencies.
The proposals must be jointly written by a principal investigator (PI) with an employment link to an educational and research institution (public or private) in the state of São Paulo on one side, and by a PI from Japan on the other.
FAPESP and JSPS will each fund half of the research project based in their territory for a maximum period of two years. FAPESP will provide a maximum annual contribution of BRL 200,000 per project, with the funding conditions and eligibility criteria for São Paulo researchers following the rules of the Regular Research Grant support modality.
The PIs must submit proposals by September 3 to the funding agency of their respective territory. FAPESP will receive proposals through the SAGe System, to which the Japanese researcher involved in the collaboration must be registered at the time of submission.
The call is available at fapesp.br/18319.
