Gilberto De Martino Jannuzzi

Gilberto De Martino Jannuzzi is an adjunct professor of energy systems at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp, State University at Campinas) School of Mechanical Engineering and coordinator of the Unicamp Interdisciplinary Center for Energy Planning. In 1985, he received a doctoral degree from the Department of Physics (Cavendish Laboratory) of the University of Cambridge. In 1990, he became a tenured professor at Unicamp.

From 1988 to 1989, Dr. Jannuzzi pursued his postdoctoral studies at the Universityof California, Berkeley. He is a Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq, Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) researcher (category I, level D). He has been a member of the IPCC, active as a reviewer and as an author, since 2000. He is currently a member of the Brazilian Panel on Climate Change.

Dr. Jannuzzi has coordinated and led initiatives in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in various national and international agencies.
